Register or buy a ticket as a guest
Use an event link to register free or buy a ticket with a Lockers account. Guests get that one event and stay outside the community.
The short version
- A free event open to guests shows Register, and a paid event shows Get a ticket with its price. Either way you use a free Lockers account and do not join the community.
- One ticket covers the whole event. After you pay on Stripe, the page shows Finishing your purchase until the payment lands, and then your pass appears.
- You can cancel a free registration from your pass. For a ticket, ask the host about a refund.
Before you start
- You have the link to the event.
- The event has not ended. Registration and ticket sales close when it does.
- You buy tickets in a web browser, because the iOS app does not offer purchases.
Know which kind of event it is
The button at the top of the event page shows how the host lets guests in.
- Register, with the notes Free with a Lockers account and You don't join the community, means the event is free for guests. When you are signed out, the button reads Sign in to register.
- Get a ticket, followed by the price, means the event is paid. When you are signed out, the button reads Sign in to get a ticket. If members of the community attend free, a note under the button says so.
Register for a free event

Sign in
Select Sign in to register. On lockers.social, sign in, or create a free Lockers account if you do not have one yet. Lockers then brings you back to the event page.

Open the Register sheet
Select Register. The sheet opens with the event's date and the word Free.

Answer the sheet
On a hybrid event, answer How will you attend? with In person or Online. Remind me by email starts switched on, and reminders go to the email on your Lockers account.

Finish
Select Register at the bottom of the sheet. The sheet confirms you are in and offers Add it to your calendar, plus Open the agenda on an event with several sessions. Select Done to close it.
Buy a ticket

Sign in
Select Sign in to get a ticket, then sign in or create a free Lockers account on lockers.social. Lockers brings you back to the event page.

Open the ticket sheet
Select Get a ticket. The sheet shows the account you are using, with the line Signed in with a free Lockers account.

Make your choices
On a hybrid event, answer How will you attend? with In person or Online. Remind me by email starts switched on, the same as for a free registration.

Accept the terms
Tick the box that begins I am 18 or older and agree to the Terms of service. It ends with Payments are nonrefundable except where law requires otherwise, and Continue to payment stays unavailable until you tick it.

Pay on Stripe
Select Continue to payment, which shows the price, and pay on Stripe's checkout page. If you leave Stripe without paying, you land back on the event page and can start again.

Wait for confirmation
Stripe sends you back to the event page, which shows Finishing your purchase while the payment is confirmed. Some payment methods take longer. You do not need to pay again, and you can leave the page while it finishes.

Find your pass
When your ticket and registration are in place, the page shows Payment confirmed. You're registered. Your pass sits below that message, and the line under the top bar reads You have a pass for this event.
What a ticket covers
The Ticket for the whole event box in the sheet shows the price and lists what you get before you pay.
- Every session of the event, with in person or online added on a hybrid event.
- Replays after each session, while this community keeps them. This line appears when the event runs in the Live room.
- No community membership needed. The note under the payment button adds that the ticket covers this event only.
What a guest can open
Registering or buying a ticket opens this one event to you. The community's feed, classroom, member list, and chat stay closed to you.
- The event page, where your pass turns into the join card on the day of the event.
- The Wall, when the host has the event wall on. You can read the posts and add your own.
- Replays, once a session ends. A session that was not recorded, or whose recording failed, shows No replay for this session.
- Starts-soon notices. Guests have no notification bell, so about 15 minutes before each of your sessions, a notice with Open and Dismiss appears at the top of the event page. Turning off email reminders stops these notices too.
Change or cancel your place
Manage on your pass turns email reminders off or on, and on an event with several sessions, Change my sessions takes you to the agenda. On a hybrid event, you can switch between In person and Online on the pass until the event starts.
To cancel a free registration, select Cancel my registration. Confirm with Cancel registration in the Cancel your registration? dialog, or select Keep registration to back out. You lose your place and your session picks, and the wall and replays close to you. You can register again until the event ends.
A ticket cannot be canceled from your pass. Where Cancel my registration would be, the Manage menu reads Contact the host for a ticket refund. The community owner handles refund requests, and a full refund ends your ticket and your registration.
If it does not work
- There is no Register or Get a ticket button. The host has not opened this event to guests, tickets are not on sale for it right now, or this account was removed from the community or is restricted.
- After you sign in, the event page is not found. The page is for members of the community only, so it does not open for guests.
- This event has ended. The last session is over, so registration and ticket sales are closed.
- Registration is closed for this event. The event is over, or every session in it was canceled.
- Choose in person or online. On a hybrid event, pick one before you select Register or Continue to payment.
- Purchases are available on the web. They are not offered in the iOS app. Open the event link in a web browser to buy your ticket.
- The page still shows Finishing your purchase. Stripe has not confirmed the payment yet, and some payment methods take longer. You do not need to pay again.
- You already have access to this event. Your account can already attend, so there is nothing to buy.
- Finish or let your existing checkout expire before changing attendance or reminders. You started a Stripe checkout for this event with different choices. Finish that checkout, or start again once it expires, up to an hour after you opened it.
