Use Lockers
Pick your sessions at a multi-session event
Star the sessions you want after you register and choose one when several start at the same time. Your countdown and reminders follow your picks.
The short version
- Registering for a multi-session event stars every session that starts at a time no other session shares. Where sessions start at the same time, you choose one with Pick this one.
- Your pass counts down to your next picked session, and with email reminders on, you get an email 15 minutes before each session you picked.
- Change your picks in the Agenda, or open Manage on your pass and choose Change my sessions.
Before you start
An event with one session, plus any breaks, has nothing to pick, so that session is your schedule. Its page shows no Agenda, and your pass leaves out My schedule and Change my sessions.
- You are registered for the event. Registered guests and ticket holders pick sessions the same way members do.
- The event has two or more sessions besides breaks.
What registering picks for you
Before you register, the Agenda lists every session with no stars. The line under it reads After you register, star the sessions you want. Reminders follow your picks. When you register through the Register sheet, the confirmation shows Pick your sessions with an Open the agenda button.
Registering stars every session that starts at a time no other session shares. When two or more sessions start at the same moment, none of them is starred, because only you know which one you want, and the Agenda asks you to pick one. Breaks and canceled sessions never take a star.
If you cancel your registration and register again, your picks start over from these defaults.
Star the sessions you want
- 1
Open the agenda
The Agenda sits under your pass, after About this event when the event has a description. On your pass, select My schedule to scroll down to it.
- 2
Star a session
Select the star beside a session to add it to your schedule, and the star fills in. Select it again to take the session out.
- 3
Pick one from a same-time group
Sessions that start together sit under a Same time label, each with a Pick this one button. Select the one you want, and its button changes to In my schedule.
- 4
Check your schedule
At the top of the Agenda, switch from All sessions to My schedule to see only your picks, with breaks left in place. Each tab shows its count.
Sessions that start at the same time
The label reads Same time · Pick one until you choose, then Same time. Your schedule keeps one session from each group, so selecting Pick this one on another session in the group moves your pick there. Selecting In my schedule clears the pick and brings Pick one back.
Same time means the same start. Two sessions that overlap and start at different times each keep their own star, and Lockers lets you star both, so compare their times on the Agenda before you do.
Read the agenda
The Agenda puts sessions under a heading for each day, and the current day's heading adds Today. Each row shows the start and end time on the left, then the session's kind, such as Talk or Workshop, above its title and hosts. On a hybrid event, each session also says where it happens, such as In person and online or Online only. Breaks show their name and length.
Sessions from every track share one list in time order. Sessions from different tracks that start together appear under Same time. When the event has tracks, the day-before reminder email names the track of each session you picked.
When your device's time zone differs from the event's, the Agenda header has a switch between Your time and Event time, and Your time is selected to start. The switch changes the times on your pass too. Days follow the zone you are viewing, so a late-evening session can move under a different day heading when you switch. When the zones match, the header shows the zone, such as Times in CDT. Lockers does not save the choice, so the page opens in Your time on your next visit.
How picks set your countdown and reminders
The box labeled Your first session on your pass counts down to the next session in your schedule that has not started. With nothing picked, it reads Pick your sessions and Your countdown and reminders follow what you pick.
With email reminders on, you get an email 15 minutes before each session you picked, and none for sessions you left unstarred. The email that goes out the day before the event lists your picks under Your sessions. If you have not picked any, it reads You haven't picked any sessions yet, with a Choose your sessions link.
Starring a session adds its 15-minute reminder, and removing the star stops it. If the pass shows Email reminders are paused for now, your picks still set the countdown. The guide Event reminders and notices covers the reminder emails and how to turn them off.
Add to calendar on your pass saves every session of the event, whatever you starred. Its menu heading ends with every session.
Change your sessions later
Once the first session's start time arrives, the join card replaces the pass at the top of the page. It leads with a picked session that is live and lists your next pick, and you change picks directly in the Agenda below it. The guide Join an event on the day covers the join card.
A session keeps its star until it ends. While a Live room session is live, Join appears in the star's place.
Choosing Cancel my registration in Manage drops every pick. The confirmation reads You lose your place and your session picks.
- 1
Open Change my sessions
On your pass, open Manage and choose Change my sessions. The page scrolls down to the Agenda.
- 2
Change your stars
Star or unstar sessions, or select Pick this one on a different session in a Same time group. Each change saves as you make it.
When the host changes a session
- A canceled or deleted session leaves the Agenda and your schedule, and its 15-minute reminder stops. If it was your pick from a Same time group, the other sessions in that group stay unstarred until you star one.
- A session moved to a new time stays in your schedule, and its reminder follows the new time.
- A session changed into a Break leaves your schedule, since breaks cannot be picked.
- A session added after you registered arrives unstarred, so check the Agenda after a schedule change.
If it does not work
- The Agenda has no stars: you have not registered yet. Register, then star the sessions you want.
- A session has no star: breaks never have one, and ended sessions lose theirs. A Live room session that is live shows Join in its place.
- Starring one session removed another: they start at the same time, and your schedule keeps one session from each Same time group.
- The stars cannot be selected: another change is still saving. Wait a moment, then try again.
- We could not add that session. The change did not save. Check your connection and select the star again. A failed removal shows We could not remove that session.
- Register for this event before picking sessions. Your registration is no longer active. Register again, and your picks start over from the defaults.
- Choose a session that is not a break or canceled. The host canceled that session or changed it into a break after the page loaded.
- Change my sessions is missing: the event has one session, or the event has started and the join card has replaced your pass. Star sessions in the Agenda directly.
- No 15-minute reminder arrived for a session: check that the session shows under My schedule and that the Email reminders switch on your pass is on.
