Use Lockers
Host or join a live session
Go live from the event page, run the room and its chat, end the session, and understand the time and attendance limits that apply.
The short version
- Owners and admins can select Go live from 15 minutes before a session's start time, on the join card at the top of the event page.
- Hosts can use camera and microphone. Attendees watch and chat, and a room holds up to 100 people at once.
- Sessions end at your bundle's time limit, or after 20 minutes with nobody attending unless a host keeps the room open.
Before you start
- Your Locker is on Pro with Live hosting active, and the event uses the Live room.
- The session is scheduled, is not a Break, and starts within the next 15 minutes.
- You are the owner or an admin to go live.
Go live
- 1
Open the event
Open the event page. From 15 minutes before a Live room session, the top of the page becomes the join card, with each session and its time.
- 2
Select Go live
Select Go live beside the session on the join card. The room opens and shows whether automatic recording is on for this session.
- 3
Run the session
Hosts can use their camera and microphone. Lockers sends a live notification to the people who registered, or to active members when nobody has registered, and the event page shows Join to everyone who can attend.
- 4
End the session
Select End session and confirm End this session? Everyone leaves the call, chat closes, and the session shows as Ended in the agenda.
Join as an attendee
Chat closes when the session ends and stays readable on the event page afterward.
- 1
Before it starts
Register on the event page. Register for an event covers your pass, and Join an event on the day covers the join card that replaces the pass once the first session starts.
- 2
When it goes live
Select Join. Attendees watch and listen without camera or microphone, and someone who had not registered is registered as online when they join.
- 3
Chat
Type in Say something and press Enter to send. Messages can be up to 2,000 characters. Owners and admins can delete messages.
- 4
Leave
Select Leave to return to the event page. You can join again while the session is live.
Time limits and empty rooms
Each session can run up to 2, 3, or 6 hours depending on your bundle. Ten minutes before the limit, everyone sees how many minutes are left, and the session ends at the limit. If the owner upgrades the bundle during a session, the longer limit applies, counted from when the session went live. Start a new session from the event page if you need to continue.
If nobody but hosts is in the room, a warning appears at 18 minutes, such as No attendees for 18 minutes. A host can select Keep session open, which adds 20 minutes but never passes the session's time limit. Someone joining also resets the clock. At 20 minutes with nobody attending, the session ends and shows This session ended because nobody was attending.
Room size
A room holds up to 100 people at the same time, hosts included. Your monthly attendee-hour allowance is a separate measure and does not raise that number.
If it does not work
- Go live is missing: the session starts more than 15 minutes from now, it is a Break, the event does not use the Live room, or your role is not owner or admin.
- Choose a Live hosting bundle before going live. Live hosting is not active for your Locker.
- This session is not live. Wait for a host to go live, then select Join again.
- You cannot join this session. You do not have access to the event, or the room has not been opened yet.
- The room shows an error: select Retry. If it keeps failing, leave and rejoin from the event page.
