Use Lockers
Delete or restore your Locker
Close a community, understand subscription cancellation, and restore within the 14-day window when cleanup is complete.
The short version
- Only the owner can delete a community, after authenticator confirmation and an exact-name confirmation.
- Members lose access immediately. Lockers queues subscription cancellation and custom-domain removal.
- Restoration is available during the 14 days after deletion once external cleanup finishes. A restored community uses the Community plan.
Before you delete
Export any content you need to keep. Follow Export your Locker content and files, check the final completion manifest, and reconstruct any numbered parts before continuing.
Review Settings, then Locker subscription, and keep any receipts you need. Deletion requests immediate cancellation of the community's Pro subscription through Stripe; provider processing can take time. It does not create a refund. Pro subscription payments are nonrefundable except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Lockers blocks deletion while the Locker has course or event purchases that were not refunded, member subscriptions, or pending checkouts. The message reads: This Locker has purchases, subscriptions, or pending checkouts. Resolve them before changing admission, transferring ownership, or deleting the Locker. Scheduling Pro cancellation does not itself stop member renewals while Pro remains active. Once Pro entitlement expires, Lockers automatically sets member subscriptions to stop renewing at their current period end and preserves paid-through access. That does not refund purchases or resolve every commitment needed to close the Locker. Contact support if you cannot resolve a payment before closing.
Deletion closes the community for every member. If you only want to leave someone else's community, use the leave control in Account. To hand the Locker to someone else instead of closing it, see the Roles list in Manage member roles, access, and who can post, and contact support first if you are unsure.
Delete the Locker
The dialog is titled Delete this community? and asks you to type the community name exactly. Members lose access as soon as you confirm.
- 1
Confirm your account
Sign in as the owner and confirm your authenticator or recovery code through Account security on this community address.
- 2
Open the Danger zone
Select Admin, then Settings. The Danger zone card is at the bottom of the General page.
- 3
Select Delete community
Read the confirmation, type the exact community name, and select Delete community.
What happens next
Lockers queues the connected subscription for cancellation and the custom domain for removal. These provider actions are tracked separately from hiding the community. If they fail, cleanup must be resolved before restoration or final removal can complete.
Do not treat the community disappearing as proof that Stripe or domain cleanup has finished. Check the deletion status and contact support if cleanup is blocked. The recovery deadline continues to run from the original deletion time.
The Pro subscription no-refund policy also applies when a community is closed, subject to refunds required by law. Course, event, and membership refund requests belong with the community owner. Contact support with a receipt reference if you believe a Lockers Pro charge is incorrect.
Restore during the 14-day window
Restoration returns the retained community content on the Community plan. It does not resume the canceled Pro subscription, restart a trial, or reconnect the removed custom domain. Upgrade to Pro again and add and verify the domain again if you need those features.
- 1
Open your community list
Go to lockers.social/communities and sign in as the owner.
- 2
Find the deleted community
Open the Deleted section. Check the recovery deadline and cleanup status.
- 3
Confirm and restore
Once cleanup is complete and the recovery deadline has not passed, confirm your authenticator if requested and select Restore.
After the recovery window
When the 14-day window has closed, self-service restoration is no longer available. Lockers schedules permanent removal of the community's records and its eligible uploaded files after required external cleanup completes. Removal can take additional processing time, and shared or legally retained records can have separate retention requirements.
A completed permanent removal cannot be reversed through Lockers. There is no self-service restoration from a platform backup or import that rebuilds a community from a content export.
If something goes wrong
- Check that you are signed in as the current owner; an admin cannot delete or restore the community.
- Use the exact community name, including capitalization and spacing.
- If authenticator confirmation has expired, open Account security for the address you are using and confirm again.
- If deletion is refused because of purchases, subscriptions, or pending checkouts, resolve those in Selling and payments under Admin, then Sales, or contact support.
- If a community is missing, cleanup is blocked, or a cancellation status is unclear, contact support@lockers.social with the community address. Do not wait until the recovery window closes.
