Use Lockers
Record a session and share the replay
Turn on automatic recording before a session, follow its recording status, and understand when a replay appears and who can watch it.
The short version
- Turn on Record automatically for a session before it starts. Recording begins when you go live.
- A replay appears only after processing finishes and the status reads Replay ready. There is no fixed wait time.
- People who can attend the event can watch its replays. Replays use your Locker's stored video allowance.
Before you start
Tell your speakers and attendees that the session will be recorded before you go live. A recording can fail or remain unavailable, so keep your own notes or slides for anything you cannot afford to lose.
Turn on recording
An event made in the New event sheet that uses the Live room, including a hybrid event, starts with Record switched on. On a multi-session event, Record new sessions on the Settings step decides whether each session you add starts with recording on.
- 1
Open the session
Select Edit on the event page, open the Schedule step, and select the session.
- 2
Switch it on
Turn on Record automatically. The note under it reads The replay goes on the event page when it ends.
- 3
Let it save
The change saves on its own. You can change the setting until the session starts. After that it is locked.
Follow the recording status
The agenda, the room, and the Replays tab show one status per session.
- Not recorded: recording was off.
- Records when live: recording is on and the session has not started.
- Starting recording, then Recording: the session is live and recording.
- Recording processing: the session has ended and the video is being prepared. The replay appears on the event page when it is ready, and you can leave the screen.
- Replay ready: the replay can be watched.
- Recording failed: Lockers could not finish this recording, and there is no retry button. Hosts see Contact support for help with this recording.
- Recording status unavailable: Lockers cannot confirm a replay, for example after processing has gone on for more than a day. Hosts see the same contact support note.
Watch a replay
Anyone who can attend the event can watch its replays, including registered guests and ticket holders. Guests and ticket holders see No replay for this session when a session was not recorded or the recording failed.
- 1
Open the event
Open the event page and select the Replays tab, or select Watch replay on an ended session in the agenda.
- 2
Play it
The replay plays in the event room. The Replays list shows the date and the scheduled length of each session.
Storage
Replays are stored as video in your Locker and count toward its stored video allowance. Replays do not use Live attendee-hours.
If it does not work
- Record automatically is greyed out: the event does not use the Live room, Live hosting is not active for your Locker, or the session has already started. Breaks have no recording switch.
- The status stays on Recording processing: give it time. If it later reads Recording status unavailable or Recording failed, contact support.
- Watch replay is missing: the status is not Replay ready yet.
- A member cannot open the replay: check that they can open the event itself.
