Use Lockers
Let guests register free for one event
Open a free event to people outside your community. Guests register with a free Lockers account and get access to that event only.
The short version
- In Access settings, choose Members, plus guests who register free, and set Who can see the page? to Anyone with the link or Listed publicly.
- A registered guest attends that one event with a free Lockers account and does not join your community.
- Setting the event back to Members only stops new guest registrations and keeps everyone who already registered.
Before you start
- You are the owner or an admin, and your authenticator is set up.
- The event is free. Paid events sell tickets, which the guide Sell tickets to an event covers.
- The event is published and has not ended.

Open the access choices
In the New event sheet, select Access settings. For an event you already created, select Edit on its page and open the Settings step.

Allow guests
Under Who is this event for?, choose Members, plus guests who register free. The card reads Guests sign up with a free Lockers account. They don't join the community.

Make the page reachable
Under Who can see the page?, choose Anyone with the link or Listed publicly. Choosing a guest option moves a members-only page to Anyone with the link, and Only members stays off while guests are allowed, because guests need to open the page to sign up.

Share the link
Select Create event, or let the Settings step save the change. On the event page, select Share, which opens your device's share options or copies the link and shows Link copied.
What a guest does
A guest who opens the link sees the event page with Register and two notes under it: Free with a Lockers account, and You don't join the community. A guest who is signed out sees Sign in to register.

Sign in
Signed-out guests select Sign in to register, then sign in or create a free Lockers account.

Register
Select Register. The sheet asks How will you attend? on a hybrid event, and Remind me by email starts switched on. Select Register in the sheet to finish.

Come back later
The event page now shows the guest's pass. Registered guests find the event again under Your events in their account menu.
Close registration
Open the Settings step and set Who is this event for? back to Members only. New guests can no longer register, and people who already registered keep their access. Registration also closes on its own when the event ends.
Removing or banning someone from the community ends their event access too, whether or not they registered.
If it does not work
- Guest registration is not open for this event. The page is members-only, the event is unpublished or priced, or it does not allow guests.
- Sign in to register. The guest is signed out, and registering needs a free Lockers account.
- Registration is closed for this event. The event has ended.
- Your access to this community was removed. Contact the owner. This account was removed or banned from your community.
- This account cannot register. The guest's Lockers account is restricted or closed.
- Choose a link or public page so guests can register. The page is still set to Only members.
