Use Lockers
Set where community email replies go
Point member replies to your community notification emails at an inbox your team actually checks.
The short version
- Supported community notification emails send from notify@lockers.social and the sender name is your community name followed by via Lockers.
- Whatever address you save under Replies go to is where a member's reply lands.
- Leave the field empty and recipients cannot reply to those notifications at all.
Before you start
You need owner or admin access to the Locker. The setting is available on both Community and Pro. Pick an inbox someone on your team reads regularly, because replies go to that mailbox and are not collected anywhere inside Lockers.
Set the address
- 1
Open Admin
Open your Locker and select Admin.
- 2
Go to Domains
Select Settings, then Domains.
- 3
Enter the address
On the Email replies card, find Replies go to and enter the email address that should receive member replies. The note under the field reads: Member notifications are sent from notify@lockers.social. Replies go to this address. Leave it empty and members cannot reply.
- 4
Save the setting
Select Save settings.
What happens after you save
Supported community notification emails keep sending from notify@lockers.social, and the sender name is still your community name followed by via Lockers. The saved address is what receives the message when a member selects reply. The sending address itself does not change, so members still see the Lockers address in the message header.
Clear the address
Clearing the field turns replies off. A member who answers one of those notifications has nowhere for the message to go, so empty this setting only if you would rather members not reply by email.
- 1
Empty the field
Delete the value under Replies go to.
- 2
Save the setting
Select Save settings.
If the address will not save
- Check that you typed a complete address, including the domain after the @ sign.
- Check that your role in this Locker is owner or admin.
- Correct the address and select Save settings again.
What this setting does not do
It does not create a shared inbox inside Lockers. Replies arrive in the mailbox you named, and your team works them there like any other email. It also does not move sending onto your own domain.
