Use Lockers
Organize members with tags and saved views
Group members for a cohort or follow-up task, then save the filters your admins use again.
The short version
- Owners and admins can use tags and saved views on Free and Pro.
- A tag groups members without changing their access. A saved view keeps filters and shows whoever currently matches.
- Bulk tagging applies only to the members you select, up to 50 at a time.
Start with a group you need to find again
A cohort is one reason to keep a group together in People. You can create a tag such as September cohort, apply it to the members taking part, and use that tag when you need to check on them.
Open your Locker, then Admin and People. Owners and current admins can do this on Free or Pro. Tags and saved views stay private to staff.
Create a tag and apply it
A Locker can have 100 active tags, and each member can have 20. Tag names can contain up to 60 characters. For a bulk change, select no more than 50 members at a time.
Tags help staff find people. Adding a tag does not enroll a member, change their role, or give them access to a paid course.
- 1
Create the tag
Select Manage tags, enter a name in New tag name, and select Create tag. Keep the name specific enough that another admin can tell when to use it.
- 2
Apply it to one member
Close the Tags dialog and select a member to open Manage member. Under Tags, choose the tag in Add a tag, then select Add. Select Remove beside an assigned tag to remove it from that member.
- 3
Tag several members together
Return to the member list and select the people you want to tag. In the selection bar, choose the tag and select Add tag or Remove tag. The action applies to those selected people, not everyone matching the filters.
Save the filters you use together
Filters combine with AND. A view for the September cohort tag and due follow-ups shows only members who meet both conditions. Search text is part of the saved filters too, so clear a name or email search before saving a whole-group view.
Saved views are shared with the Locker's owner and admins. A Locker can have 25 saved views. The Purchased but not started filter requires Pro and a selected course; other core Audience tools remain available on Free.
- 1
Set the filters
Choose your tag in the Tag filter. The default status is Active. Choose All statuses if your task also includes people who left or were removed. Add other filters only when the group needs them.
- 2
Name the view
Select Save view. In Save this view, enter a name that describes the group. If Save as is shown, choose New view, then select Save view.
- 3
Open the saved view later
Select its name above the member list. The view shows members who match its filters now, so someone leaves the results when they no longer match.
Change or remove a saved view
To change a view's filters, open the view, adjust the filters, and select Save view. Under Save as, choose Replace followed by the view's name, then select Replace view. You can replace views you created; the owner can replace any saved view.
When an editable view is selected, Rename view and Delete view are available beside Save view. Deleting a view removes the saved filters. It does not remove the matching members or their tags.
Renaming a tag keeps its existing assignments. Deleting a tag removes it from members and makes views that depend on it unavailable until they are updated. Creating another tag with the same name does not restore those assignments or repair the old views.
