Paid monthly, Teachable Starter is $39, Builder is $89, and Growth is $189. Starter charges a 7.5% transaction fee, and Builder and Growth list 0% when you use Teachable Payments.
The Teachable plans
Teachable says annual billing saves 22% compared with paying month to month.
- Starter is $39 a month paid monthly, or $29 a month paid yearly ($348 over twelve months at that rate). It lists 5 products and a 7.5% transaction fee.
- Builder is $89 a month paid monthly, or $69 a month paid yearly ($828 over twelve months). It lists 10 products, a 0% transaction fee with Teachable Payments, an affiliate program, and real-time support.
- Growth is $189 a month paid monthly, or $139 a month paid yearly ($1,668 over twelve months). It lists 50 products, a 0% transaction fee with Teachable Payments, course certificates, removing Teachable branding, imported students, custom admin permissions, and free subtitles and translations.
- Custom has no public price, and Teachable asks you to book a call. It lists a dedicated success manager, priority support, migration help, and flexible product, student, and admin limits.
The transaction fee
Only Starter lists a 7.5% transaction fee. Builder, Growth, and Custom list 0% when you use Teachable Payments. Teachable says standard payment processing fees may still apply.
Paid monthly, Builder costs $50 more than Starter. The Starter fee on about $666.67 of sales in a month comes to about that same $50.
Trial, refunds, and canceling
Teachable's pricing page does not list a free plan you keep. It lists a 7-day free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee. You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period.
What the same course site costs on Lockers
Lockers Free includes unlimited courses and unlimited members. Pro is $49 a month or $470 a year per Locker. Certificates are on Pro.
Lockers is a community and a classroom together, so the people taking your course are members of the same community.
Selling is available after the Locker owner connects a Stripe account and completes payment setup. On course sales, the platform fee is 5% on Free and 1% on Pro. Paid membership requires Pro, includes every course, and the platform fee is 1% on each payment. Payment processing costs extra. We calculate the platform fee after discounts and before tax. When a payment is refunded, we return the proportional platform fee; payment-provider fees follow the provider’s rules.
